A busy December

Don't forget to check out the Events page to see what's going on on Park Row this Christmas Season. Newly added is the POTLUCK to follow the pageant on Sunday Dec. 18.

Please bring your cameras and video cameras to church. The Sunday School is doing such a beautiful job of bringing the joy of the season to the services. E-mail your images (and videos) to me and I will post them.

Thanks so much to Christa and all the people who work with her for reviving the children's sector of our congregation.

World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day is December 1, 2011.

We are called to confront this pandemic -- whose scale has no precedent in human history.

• Thirty million people -- parents, children, spouses, partners, siblings -- have died early and unnecessary deaths.
• An entire generation of children in sub-Saharan Africa has been orphaned because of the virus; many of these children have themselves been infected by mother-to-child transmission, a transmission which is preventable with basic medical attention.
• ELCA programs in Tanzania teach students marketable skills alongside HIV and AIDS awareness education.
• The voice of every Episcopalian and every ELCA member is vital to this work, so we urge you to join our churches' advocacy efforts by becoming members of the Episcopal Public Policy Network or the ELCA e-Advocacy Network.

A busy December

Hey! Before I start: Have you seen the new handicapped bathroom in the basement with the sliding door? Awesome! New floor - new toilet - plenty of room. Thanks Guys! & Gal! Linda & Gary started it all off! Mac, Bruce, Hank, Fred & Bob finished it off!! Beautiful job on the woodwork at the lift entrance. We're ready now for the Christmas hoards - bring 'em on. Your tired, your crippled, your poor (too much?) Let me know - I'll take that last part out.

2. Not to harp on this but . . . my treasurer days are numbered. I will finish up the 2011 books but we REALLY need someone to take over as of January 1. Give me a call if you would like to talk it over.
