Bishop Marie Jerge


Prince of Peace, Clifton Park will host Bishop Marie Jerge, on the evening of February 8 for a Mission Dinner and an opportunity for congregational leaders and members throughout the Hudson Mowhawk Conference to hear the bishop. POP will provide lasagna and bread. Folks with last names beginning with A-L are asked to bring desserts and M-Z to bring salads. Dinner will be at 6:30 pm. The flyer is attached.

Alexis Bervy, Jr.

Our hearts go out to the family of Alexis Bervy Jr. who passed away on 1/1/2012 at age 90 years. The funeral will be Saturday  1/7/2012 at 10 am at our church. Calling hours are Friday eve 1/6/12 from 4-7pm at Wenk funeral home.
Here is the obituary from the Register Star:
Alexis Bervy Jr. 90 a longtime resident of East Chatham died Sunday at Barnwell Nursing Home. Mr. Bervy born October 7,1921 in Nantucket, Ma. is the son of the late Alexis and Dunia (Nazarenko) Bervy Sr.
 He graduated from Chatham High School. He went to work on the family operated Dairy farm which He and his family took over and named it Sunnyside Farm until his retirement in 1988. 
Mr. Bervy served as Building Inspector for the Town of Canaan . For many years He delivered parts for Chatham Auto Parts. Mr. Bervy was a life member of the Canaan Conservation Club and life member of the East Chatham Fire Dept. 
A devoted family man and an avid fan of all sports.
 He is survived by 3 Daughters, Annette Demitraszek of Ravena, N.Y., Dona Bervy and husband Richard Knott of East Chatham, Sonya Zingo and husband Robert of Rochester, N. Y.  2 Sons Alexis Bervy III  and wife Patty of East Chatham, Nicholas and wife Lori of East Chatham, Brother Serge Bervy Sr. of Austerlitz, and sister Eugenia Walter of Tampa, Fl. Survived also by 9 Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren.
 Mr. Bervy was predeceased by his wife Lillian and brother Maxim Bervy.
 Funeral Service will be held  Saturday 10:00am from the Christ Our Emmanuel Lutheran Church Chatham. Interment will be in the Cemetery of The Evergreens New Lebanon, N.Y. Calling hours will be Friday evening 4 -7 pm from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham. Memorials may be made to the Canaan Volunteer Fire Co. Canaan, N.Y. 12029 or the East Chatham Fire Dept.
